Description
watercolour and wax crayon on Hahnemuehle 275 g Torchon 24 x 32 cm or 9,4 x 12,6 inch. Should have been a simple colour and value study for a coming painting, ..but then I liked it and I posted it. Was looking for the limit between reality and imagination, ..between realistic painting and abstraction ...so this big piece of a rock in the midst of a nearby situated forest, which fascinated me since I was a child, ..was a convenient object for this trial ...

Gorgeous mix of colors!! I love the way the paint is so transparent and the colors are layered and mixed in places and in other places it is more opaque and the lines sharper. I like the feeling of all the leaves here but nothing really says "I am a tree or I am a bush" If that makes sense to you. :D f/love!!! I know what you mean by having an idea and wanting to paint something but the mood and atmosphere has to be just right! :D

Almo,I have a feeling that you are really pushing the boundaries with your unique technique of watercolor.Always expanding towards new horizons with your color schemes, vibrancy and touch of surrealism.Always beautiful.Look forward so much also to the coming painting. If it ever comes! Who knows with spontaneous art like this. That's the beauty! Wonderful! L/F

Thank you so much Jane, ..cannot say how I esteem your wonderful words, ..I am happy that you like this piece, ..it was not the result of planning and deliberation as many a time ..it was pure emotion and after all I liked it best though it was supposed only to be a sketch...So you are definitively right, ..do not think that I am able to start the envisaged painting now, last weekend when I wanted to start I felt like a surfer with his surfboard waiting for the big wave that did not come, but for me that is not so important, ..important is the perception that I like my paintings best when they are mirroring my own feelings... Thanks so much for all ...
