Description
..long time I was pondering, whether I should paint this work, ..did I have the right to enter into an environment, that was not mine, .. paint a historical and mystic place, I have never seen with my own eyes, ..penetrate into the intimacy and nearness of two wonderful people without having asked them whether I was allowed to do this ... can only say, .. temptation was too overwhelming, ..could not resist to put my thoughts and my phantasy on paper, .. always fearing, that the challange was too difficult, too great for my humble skills.
Can only say that this should be some kind of reverence and homage to two people, having lived for many a year on these mystical and historical grounds, in the shade of these historical ruins, looking back apon centuries and centuries, ..
though deep in my soul I am aware, that the silent communion, .. to use J.s very words, of these two wonderful people may outlast the age of these ruins by far ....

Almo just had to re visit and say again that I could never have imagined the content of your outstanding painting . From the depths of your imagination so much has been revealed in the transcendent and ethereal nature of this work. You will never know the depths of my experience of beauty and peace and sacredness as I view it. I love, love ,love the subtle layers of stonework, the "milky" moonlight that washes everything in a gentle radiance and the togetherness of the couple. Incredible use of your medium to convey a beauty and silence and sense of "time" that is beyond all words. I hope you do not mind that I paraphrased an earlier comment I made Almo, but I SO wanted to show my appreciation again but had no way of expressing it better than before! ( And besides, I notice that previous comments disappear according to the FAA system ! ) Amazingly beautiful and mystical art!!!
