I know very well that you should not explain your own paintings,..but sometimes you cannot resist...Some viewers may write,..oh what a lovely painting.. but to be honest, it was not my intention only to paint a lovely painting and I do not know, whether it is lovely at all ...perhaps there are viewers who say ..why does he paint one tree almost black and the other almost white especially as the latter does not look like a birch ...well of course my own perceptions of life are reproduced in his piece, ..but as I said,..my ownones and nobody in the world needs to share them,..but I think that my perceptions of life would be incomplete, if I would leave out that part of life, many of us do not even dare to think at,..in short,..I wanted to deal with nothing less than death itsself ... Perhaps there will be viewers who may feel consolation when looking at this painting, ..if so, ..painting this piece was worthwhile... But perhaps there will be a time, when I myself am wishing to see this picture arise again in my mind ... I am deeply convinced that dealing with these problems as long as they are not actual,..is like paying the ferryman on this side of the river,...so we can be sure that he will bring us safely to the other side ...

Hello Almo! I did view this wonderful painting once before when I was"absent" from FAA for a while. Or trying to be!! So I have not yet commented. On finding it again just now,I am reminded of a thought I had by a strange synchronicity earlier today about death. I was thinking that for those of us who reguarly contemplate death, we can be fairly ready to accept it,but we do not usually think that it could be this very day! Well,in viewing this beautiful, sparkling, peaceful and "expectant "painting,I feel ready to accept departing "today" if it has to be. There is so much beauty on your river, but also it gives me the feeling,that there is so much more to come. Thank you Almo for sharing this inspiring piece of work. L/F
